Summertime Addition

The trailer has been set up in the driveway for the past couple of weeks. The boys have spent every night in there possible. Even little Hy will crawl in there around 9 or so and fall to sleep. It is cute. They love it. And I encourage it. Because here in the Last Frontier we won't be letting our kids spend the night on the sleeping on the trampoline with the roaming bears, the moose, and the mosquitoes.
Last night C&T, after THREE hours of listening to me read Peter and the Secret of Rundoon, headed out to the pop-up. In the morning the reported with pride that they stayed up so late and were able to see their watches switch from Thursday to Friday. Simple pleasures.

Hip Hip Halibut

In May Eric went Halibut fishing with some friends from work. They chartered a boat out of Homer and spend the day at Sea.

This is my man in action!

Seeing a Ocra (a.k.a. "Killer Whale)

This is Eric's catch of the day (which also happened to be the biggest of the few fishes that were caught that day). That bad boy is now in the freezer slowly being rationed and savored.

How can a 2 minute nap in a WalMart Shopping cart energize a 3-year-old as if he had had a 4 hour nap?

The Farmer

Yesterday Hyrum was singing The Farmer in the Dell. It was so cute. As I leaned in to listen closer this is what I heard:

The Farmer in the Jail.

The Famer in the Jail.

Hi-ho-ma-no-no-no

The Famer's in the Jail.

Quest for Crazy

Searching for Crazy? Look no further.

Tow Head

This is as blonde as it gets. I always thought that I would be a mom of tow heads. Instead, I (like Mrs. Weasley) am the mother of a band of red heads. But if I put this little one in the right light an do a lot of squinting, then just for a moment I can pretend that I have a little tow head.

Helping T

Tanner has been begging to mop. So we pulled it out and let him have at it. He did a fantastic job. I'm trying to figure out how to keep it this mystical, special treat? Wish I was just dying to get my hands on a mop.

Little Man's Best Friend

Some people like dogs. We like Cheerios. We take them on walks with us. We buy them their own special containers . . . And we sing their praises when they can entertain our 8-month-old for more than 5 minutes. To us, Cheerios, are like family.

Hooray for Warner, who can now eat Cheerios all by himself.

Hike

Monday was the first Hike Group Adventure. We all met at the church and loaded up into the Suburbans and Vans. It was a great hike up Arctic Valley on the Rendezvous Trail. We were a bit unprepared this being our first Early Summer hike in Alaska.

A. We wore the wrong shoes. I was expecting dry dirt. I was wrong. Poor little Hyrum had on this Keds type shoes that I had taken the laces out of. With every step the mud would squelch squirch his shoes and he'd come to his next step with nothing but a naked foot.

B. Rain is always a possibility. So everyone had rain jackets shoved into their backpacks. Luckily it didn't rain, but at the end of our hike was a Glacier that the kids were having the best time sliding down. And what were they sliding down on? Yup their rain jackets. The Baconbits need for speed was thwarted by fleece pullovers.

It was a great day with spectacular scenery and breathtaking views. 1 hike down. A whole summer left to go!

Photos From Tonight

The boys were having the best time tonight playing outside in the cul-de-sac. Aren't they a cute? I'm not sure what they were playing but it sounded like their imaginations were creating all sorts of fun and adventures.

Last Batch

In honor of the Price Family cross eyed photo contest. . . here is Tanner.
Sam tried to do an ugly face but just couldn't.

Here's Hy doing his best. He can actually roll his eyes all the way when he wants to. We've got talent just oozing from us.

Warner is just sick of being sick. Poor kid.
