FHR (Family Home Relaxing)

As I was scrambling to put the finishing touches on our FHE treat, Eric decided to settle down the boys by using relaxation techniques. See below:

I was told it was a huge success UNTIL Hyrum decided to pounce on the relaxers.

Two More Freak'in Genius'

Tanner:

Christian:

Christian and Tanner were honored in an awards assembly. Much to my surprise the boys both received TWO awards. . . one from their teachers for academic acheivements and another from the music teacher for being excellent singers. Hooray.

We seem to just being oozing with brilliance around here.

Alaskan Agua

Alaskan Tidbit: One Price. . . All the Water you Want! Wahoo. I'm still a conservative at heart (something genetically inborn in me) and am trying my hardest to rid myself of the ingrained, drought born saying, "If its yellow let it mellow. . . "

This is the best part of the water deal. . .
I have found it is not quite as painful to rewash a load of laundry when it has sat unremembered and mildewing in the washing machine for three days. :)

Spatula Club

On Monday I went over to a new friends house. Jodi is her name. She has one of the cheeriest people I know . . . just full of zing and oozing with happiness. It is wonderful to be around her. When I was in her kitchen I noticed a jar full of colored spatulas. There were reds ones, blue ones, yellow ones, a brown one. . . . I commented to Jodi, "You must like spatulas."

Jodi then shared with me this great tradition she does with her sister. Some years ago they started collecting colored spatulas from Williams Sonoma. Each year as they come out with new seasonal colors one sister will buy two, keep one and send the other to their sister. So they truly have a beautiful boquet of this quirky collectable (which in and of itself I think is a great way to remember your sister). But the "spatula club" as they call it goes further that nostalgic beauty. When one sister comes to visit the other, the visiting sister must hide all of the colored spatulas before she leaves. Then over the next few weeks or months, the sister will find all her spatulas all over the house and think of her sister. . . finding them perhaps in a book, a game, linens, a drawer here or there.

Isn't that sweet?

I want to start a spatula club. Do you collect any fun things like this? Any great ideas?

I'd like to be a Donkey

I'm a registered Republician more out of tradition than anything else. My parents are Republicians, my grandparents were Repbulicians . . . so somewhere along the lines I thought, "Hey, I'll be a Repbulician too." And in the past it has suited me just fine (though my loyalties are tied more to my heart than to a political party)

But TODAY I wish I was a registered democrat because I would sure like to lend my vote towards the Obama/Clinton showdown. I like to be where the action is. Political campaigns in my opinion are usually a heated contest between Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb . . . both of whom have made their political climb up the sketchy political ladders filled with promises and jargin and fake smiles. This year, once again in my opinion, is not much different. . . but I do have an opinion of whom I'd like lying and smiling at me (most of the candidates can easily do both of those things at the SAME TIME).
It will be fun to see the outcome!

Alaskan tidbit. We are a big state, small population, and very far away. So what does that mean for us? No one bothers to pay for airtime up here. . . we have no presidential political commercials, no phone calls, no visits, nothing. Ahhh. One of the perks to being an Alaskan.
