Friday morning it rained. We packed up the pop-up under cloudy skies
and with hopeful hearts. When we pulled into King's Mountain
campground it was beautiful. We filled the evening with a hike,
dinner, and good conversation around the fire that Eric masterfully
got started. Saturday morning the sun was shining and we were pealing
off layers--goodbye jackets and hats. The kids played for HOURS in
the glacier fed river making mud pies and playing steal the
flag/stick, and giving themselves mud makeovers. It was a great trip
with the Speaks (who we never go camping without) and our
newest/dearest friends the Galloways. By the time we pulled into our
drivieway late Saturday afternoon it had started to drizzle. We could
not have planned the weather any better.
