Day 3: 2013 Warner Family Adventure in Alaska

Scott, Rachel, Eric, Christian, and Tanner hiked Crow Creek Pass. My
parents and the rest of the Bacon clan drove to Aleyska to pick up the
hikers car. While there we enjoyed the hand tram.

Day Two: 2013 Warner Family Adventure in Alaska

Church: Eric spoke and taught Sunday School

Happy Camper

Hy was able to attend cub scout day camp this year. He loved it. Hy
has a tendancy to be shy, anxious, and cautious when it comes to
trying new things. He however came home a dirty sweaty mess everyday
which, to me, indicated he got in there and had a good time. We heard
all sorts of stories about archery, bb guns, capture the flag,
canoeing, dodgeball, kickball, service projects, and hikes. It was
little boy paradise and I was glad that he was able to go and enjoy
himself.

Mudgie turns four

Somehow this got skipped in the half hearted attempt at blogging about
our lives. But back in July Mudgie turned four.

We kept his birthday simple. A little celebration at home complete
with train cake decorated with gobs of candy. He was in heaven.

Mudgie is one sparkly kid.
His brothers adore him.
He had some entertaining facial expressions.
He loves trains and roaming around with neighborhood kids.
The kitchen stools elevate him into all sorts of mischief.
He sleeps with his favorite green blanket, pesters Holland, and
givings great morning snuggles.

Recently he's really started talking. Really talking. Tonight he
said, "Mom I want to give you a kiss. Can I give you some bejinos
(spanish for kiss. . . we kiss both cheeks). Thanks mom, I love you."
Not only was it sweet, but I understood every word.

This fall (just a week and a half ago) he started preschool. He is so
blessed to be in the buddy bear program at our local elementary. As a
parent you always hope that your kid is doing okay and I was thrilled
when Miss Teri said, "Talmage is the perfect buddy bear for our
afternoon class." Phew! We walk to school almost everyday together
with his Thomas the Train backpack, his spikey hair, and his orange
shoes.

Warner's first day of Kindergarten.

Wonderful Washington

We had a wonderful time in Washington. These pictures are a shoddy
representation of the fun that we had (but I'm grateful to Aunt Kim
for snapping these of my kids).

We were spoiled and the boys, in addition to spending glorious time
with cousins, got to try all sorts of new things. Christian LOVED
skurfing and easily earned his watersport merit badge. Sam was the
champ of the kneeboarding. Warner was eager and willing to try
EVERYTHING!!! Mudgie LOVED the boat and jumped on every chance he
could get to be in the action. We heard stories about the body beater
being flipped and the survivors had the scrapes and scabs to show for
it, along with enormous smiles and bragging rights. Uncle Travis was
amazing and spent LONG days driving the boat and entertaining our
water deprived children. Warner and Talmage took a special liking to
Aunt Kim and she was kind enough to shower them with a little extra
love. Uncle Kevin tossed neices and nephews into the air from one end
of the pool to the other. Uncle Bryan told stories. Aunt Jill gave
the boys a list of books to read. Aunt Missy pulled out crafts, and
scooters, and treats, and toys. Grandma was delighted by the surprise
and to be surrounded by her entire posterity. The highlight was
Grandpa, in full swim attire, joining us all in the swimming pool for
a little fun. We ate and ate and ate scrumptious meals, talked and
caught up, laughed, wrestled little ones, soaked up sunshine, and I,
in particular, was reminded why this group of people are among some of
the finest I know.

Got to spend 10 glorious days with our cousin.  What fun!  Lots to post later.
